Escape to Vancouver this Winter

  • November 16, 2023

Although many Canadians traditionally go south or to Hawaii for the winter, Vancouver provides a great alternative. A mild climate, upbeat culture, and natural beauty just to name a few, there are so many reasons to make Vancouver your winter destination.

Mild Temperatures

Known for its mild weather makes Vancouver a particularly attractive destination during the winter season. Traditionally, the city sees very little snowfall with temperatures rarely dropping below zero. The average daily high between December and February in Vancouver is 7 or 8 degrees, with the low being around 3 degrees. This makes it an ideal spot for Canadian snowbirds wishing to stay active throughout the winter and want to skip out on having to bundle up every time they step outside.

Activities Year-Round

When the weather gets colder, doesn’t mean the fun stops in Vancouver. As the weather never gets too cold or snowy, many outdoor activities continue year-round in the city. Outdoor activities such as cycling, jogging, walking, and golfing are all popular activities during the winter months in Vancouver.  Offering tee times throughout the year check out Fraserview Golf Course and Langara Golf Course if you are a golf enthusiast.

Culture and Food

Vancouver although known for its natural beauty, the city has plenty going for it in the way of food and culture. From sushi restaurants to steak by the waterfront, there are many incredible places to eat in the city. Several great art galleries and museums, including the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Contemporary Art Gallery, Science World, and the Museum of Anthropology, located on the University of British Columbia’s campus makes your days in Vancouver very enjoyable.

If you’re a snowbird looking for new travel plans, then why not spend winter in Vancouver? Book your stay at the Grand Park Hotel Vancouver Airport, the perfect jumping off point for exploring this beautiful Canadian city, while escaping the harsh conditions of most other provinces. We combine top-notch accommodation and comfort, with a location so close to the Airport and short distance to Downtown Vancouver.
